To compliment the EL cabling at the bottom of the case I needed to add some additional lighting inside the case interior.
The colour blue has been the main focal point for this project, so I added a 15" Cold Cathode Tube
from Computuning. The tube measures approximately 12.25 inches in length with a .25 inch diameter and fits perfectly
behind the front bezel hidden from view. In order to power both the EL cable and 15" Cold Cathode Tube, two additional
SPST switches were added to the VU-Meter drive plate. The MTB HTPC does not require the fastest hardware as a complete
entertainment PC. Here is a list of hardware currently installed inside the case:
- ASUS TUSI-M mATX Motherboard (PC133/ATA 133)
- Intel Pentium III-1 GHz EB FC-PGA Mhz PC133 CPU w/AeroCool AB7080 HSF Cooler
- 2 x 256 MB PC133 Ram Chips (512 MB in total)
- 1 x Maxtor 30 GB DiamondMax ATA 133 Hard Drive
- ATI Radeon 7000 AGP Video Card (subject to change to a Radeon All-In-Wonder)
- LG GCC-4120B Combination Drive (12x8x32 CDRW + 8x DVD)
- SB Live Value sound card
- Modified A-Open ATX-300GT Switching Power Supply
- Cambridge Soundworks Slim 500 Speakers
- Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse w/Ratpadz Mouse Pad

The VU-Meter requires a power supply voltage of 12v and is connected directly to a spare molex connector from the PSU.
A secondary cable extends from the circuit board to the audio channel on a SB Live Value card. Two trimmer pots located
on the circuit board allow you to adjust the sensitivity of the LEDs. Using some MP3's through Winamp, here you can see
the Stereo VU-Meter in action while music is being played through normal speakers. The two fan controllers on the right
side of the front bezel look great and keep the stereo component theme that I wanted thanks to the addition of the two
aluminum knobs. The status LEDs on either side of the knobs change the intensity based on the setting of each controller.
I kept one single USB port to allow the connection of external devices such as joysticks, scanners, and digital cameras.

The stealth LG GCC-4120B is accessible by the simple push of a button. The red push button centered between both 5.25"
drive bays allows you to open and close the drive. One issue that I discovered earlier on was that the drive bay plate
was not sitting flush with the front bezel. This was corrected by re-seating the LG GCC-4120B back a little in the
drive cage.
