The Lubic 3519 Kit provides two different methods for joining the aluminum framing pieces together. Consumers can use a series of anodized "L" brackets that have been tapped with two screws threads at either ends or use the assorted bag of Metal Sliders that have been tapped with three thread holes. The Metal Sliders fit within the channels of the aluminum framing pieces and are secured using the included 6-32 or 8-32 mounting screws.

Another alternative for joining the aluminum framing pieces together is to use steel based angle joints. The angle joints work in conjunction with the Metal Slider pieces to form the basis of what will secure this custom case together. To start off this project, the first step was to secure two angle joints to two of the longer aluminum framing pieces which measure approximately 352mm. I had roughly sketched out a sample diagram which would be the basis of creating a basic cube case using this system. The cube case would measure approximately 352mm (L) x 390mm (W) x 390mm (H) using the longer pieces to make up the composition for the bottom, top, front, rear and side panels.

The main components for this project would include some additional material which was ordered from All Electronics and Home Depot. There are four channels located on each piece of aluminum framing which is perfect for the placement of acrylic material. I picked up several pieces of clear 18 x 24 x 3/16" Lucite Tuff which I would later cut to make up the side panels. I also ordered several sheets of 11" X 15" Plastic Mesh material which I planned for using with other projects but decided to also use for this project as well. I assembled six aluminum framing pieces on top of a sheet of Lucite Tuff to get a rough idea of how much material would have to be cut to measure the inside diameter of the frame. As previously mentioned, the pieces themselves measure 352mm and I would subtract 2.5mm to get the appropriate measurements.
