The Warning: DIRT means BAD
Make sure that your sanding block is always free of dirt and other debris. Like in the picture
below, I put my block down for a small break, and when I came back and started sanding. Thankfully,
I noticed that there was dirt all over my sanding block and panel before much damage was done.

Step 4: The Big Switch (Total Time: ~10-15min)
So you have a panel that you’re happy with, well you can either stop here or continue on to Step 5.
If you’re a perfectionist like me, it’s time to switch that 320/400 grit paper to 600 grit, and
sand again. Just repeat the same steps as above. I find this will give you an even smoother panel
and the best results. If you’re even more of a perfectionist another alternative is to switch up
the 600 grit to 800 grit, but this usually doesn’t make much of a difference.

Step 5: Clean the panel and let it dry
Since it was really cold out, I decided to sneak the panel inside and clean it in the bathtub. Be
very careful as the panel can easily scratch the tub, which will result in either your parental
units or significant other inflicting a few scratches of their own on your hide. I left the panel
to dry overnight, then before painting I cleaned it with some rubbing alcohol to get rid of the
rest of the dirt. Here’s the end result and there’s already a nice shine to the panel.
