MODTHEBOX would like to thank Markus from Compad
for providing Speed-Pad + Speed-Fix Spray for review.
Introduction:
Gaming mouse pads have been one of the key components for hardcore gamers who demand the best performance from their computer systems.
The latest technological advances in gaming applications have spawned a new market for the development of the ultimate gaming surface. A few
months ago MTB profiled the two well-known products from Icemat and Ratpadz. Both products were tested in-house with the Ratpadz Gaming
Surface coming out as the overall winner. The Ratpadz Gaming Surface offered great accuracy with optical mice and durability in terms of
overall construction. Compad based out of Freiburg, Germany believes they have a better surface for hardcore gamers and graphic artists.
Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Speed-Pad + Speed-Fix Spray, new products designed to provide accurate gaming performance.
Specifications:
The Compad Speed-Pad and Speed-Fix Spray shipped directly from Freiburg, Germany and took approximately 2 weeks to arrive in Canada. The
units that were provided for review were the traditional clear and black styled mousing surface. At the time of this review there were
currently no North American distributors for this product. Here are some of the specifications taken directly from the Compad website:

The Compad Speed-Pad and Speed-Fix Spray was shipped in a standard cardboard packaging. Compad currently offers all their mousing
surfaces in 5 different colours ranging from blue, black, green, yellow and clear. Consumers can request a special logo or images placed
on the surface prior to ordering for an additional fee. One point to note is that most logos have a tendency of wearing off over
time after extended use.

The Compad website does not detail the composition of the mousing surface but the construction is similar to the Ratpadz Gaming Surface and
is polymer based. This makes for a very durable product that will last a lifetime of service, and should take most punishment for longer
extended periods of gameplay. The Speed-Pad measures 24 cm x 30 cm and is slightly larger than the Ratpadz, meaning that you'll need some
extra desktop space to use this product. The lower outer edges are a few millimeters wider, which could be the difference between virtual life or
death as you sweep your hand from side to side, but for other applications, it doesn’t matter.
