Computining

Introduction:

Water Cooling components play an integral part of a complete water cooling solution. The assembly of various parts can dictate cooling performance as well limit cooling options depending on the type of case used. Pre-fabricated water cooling kits have gained in popularity for simplifying the process of migrating from air based cooling to complete water cooling. A few months ago, MTB introduced our readers to the Space 2000+ Water Cooling Kit marketed by Computuning. Computuning has been busy improving the product line and adding in new accessories to cater to overclocking enthusiasts worldwide. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the new 80mm Radiator and Dual 120mm Monster Radiator to see how each product improves cooling performance.

Specifications:

The Dual 120mm Monster Radiator and 80mm Radiator are both self contained upgrades that can be utilized in the Space 2000+, H20+ or any type of DIY water cooling system. Both radiators have been designed to utilize the quick disconnect one touch fitting system with recommended 3/8" ID tubing. Here are some key specifications and features from the Computuning website:

The products shipped in a simple corrugated cardboard box. Both radiators are protected by a small sheet of cardboard that extended around the frame of each product. The package also included various accessories which were individually packaged in several smaller plastics bags. I noted during my inspection that both radiators arrived in good condition with no bent pipes or pins which could hamper cooling performance.

Once unpacked the smaller components included the following items:
  • 1 x Dual 120mm Monster Radiator
  • 1 x 80mm Radiator
  • 2 x 120mm ADDA's LX12025T fans
  • 1 x 80mm COFAN F-825M12B fan
  • 2 x 120mm Chrome fan grills
  • 1 x 80mm Chrome fan grill
  • 4 x Clear tie wraps
  • Assorted screws, bolts, and fan screws
The two 120mm fans are low profile and manufactured by ADDA under the model number LX12025T. The fans are capable of providing good air circulation for the included dual 120mm radiator. Each 120mm fan is rated at 1950 RPM and can push 72 CFM with a 33 dBA noise level. The 80mm fan was manufactured by a company called COFAN under the model number F-825M12B. I was unfamiliar with the product line but did find a reference website for COFAN to obtain some statistics on the fan. The 80mm fan is rated at 2500 RPM and can push 36 CFM with a 27.6 dBA noise level. Both 120mm fans are equipped with 4-pin molex connectors while the 80mm fan uses a 3-pin connector but includes an optional 3-pin to 4-pin adapter.
