Nikao

Introduction:

The case selection process can be difficult for some people, especially for those individuals who are purchasing for the very first time. There are so many factors involved that can influence a decision to purchase a computer case, that the list seems almost endless. Users will examine everything involved in terms of manufacturer, make, model, options, and expandability. One factor that some people seem to ignore is budget, and Nikao has been producing a new series of cases with the cost value in mind. Last month we evaluated the Noblesse Electric Blue Case and today in the MTB Labs, we will be reviewing Nikao’s second attempt in the battle of the beige, the Eclipse Series Case.

Specifications:

The specifications of the Nikao Eclipse Case are comparable to that of your standard mid tower case. Nikao is advertising this product as one of the new millennium consumer value cases, which is priced well under $100 and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The Nikao Eclipse case arrived is good condition and was shipped in cardboard packaging. The package is very light, weighting only 20 lbs and easy to handle. Upon opening up the packaging the case is sealed with plastic and secured by two pieces of polystyrene.

My first impressions of the Nikao Eclipse case after removing the packaging were very positive. One of the standout features of this case is the fact that every inch is colour matched perfectly with blue, silver and chrome as the main theme. The beige element found in most mid tower cases from third party manufacturers has been completely eliminated. The front bezel is decorated in blue with silver accents around the buttons and drive bays. The world Eclipse has been embossed in white lettering on the front to add to the attractiveness of this case. The left and right side panels are secured by chrome thumbscrews and include a small hand clip to assist with getting inside the case with ease.
