MODTHEBOX would like to thank Brian from VoyeurMods
for sending the VEXX Pre-modified Mid-Tower Case for review.
Introduction:
The explosion of popularity in case modification in recent months is becoming more and more evident. Hardware manufacturers are
focusing on aesthetics in their designs, and more and more companies are starting to assemble units that look more like high tech
stereo components rather than the beige boxes that get relegated to a dusty corner of a room or office. The case modding community is
seeing an influx of newly interested users curious as to how to make their units more visually appealing. Any veteran case modder will
testify to the fact that most new users’ questions are primarily directed towards achieving a professional look. Some users who lack
the necessary skill or patience may opt to having their case modified professionally, instead of potentially blundering a project of
their own. This especially becomes the case when users invest a fairly sizable amount of money into getting a quality paint finish. A
new company to join the growing list of pre-modified case vendors is VoyeurMods. Their low-cost model, the VEXX, is extremely versatile
in its offerings, and has a slew of add-ons features that consumer can customize prior to purchase. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be
evaluating this all-in-one ecomical based pre-modified case solution.
Specifications:
The VEXX is a pre-modified mid-tower case that incorporates several modifications and a custom paint finish as an all-in-one solution
for users looking for a complete package. The case is priced in the sub $100 US margin, and while budget users will appreciate the
cost, it doesn’t fall short on features. Here are some specifications taken from the VoyeurMods website:

The case ships in a standard double-walled corrugated cardboard box. The original manufacturer of the case appears to be
Raidtronics, a computer chassis and power supply manufacturer based in
Southern California. The Raidmax logo and a sketch of the case adorn one side of the case, while the other panel provides model
information and any additional options. The box itself suffered no shipping damage during transit. Opening up the box, I found the
best-packed computer case ever shipped to me. The unit ships between two pieces of polystyrene, and is further protected by Styrofoam
peanuts in the empty spaces the polystyrene doesn’t protect.

Normally, you’d associate post delivery inspections with the auto industry, but VoyeurMods includes a PDI for their cases. While some
of the information is not relevant to the unit in question shipped, it’s still encouraging to see that a company provides the consumer
with all pertinent information related to the product in hard copy form with the package. Removing the case from its packaging, the
level of detail in assuring minimal shipping damage is again noted. Along with the polystyrene blocks, the case is shrouded by a clear
plastic sheet. As well, the side panel components have been carefully shielded with protective backings. Given that this is VoyeurMods
most inexpensive pre-modded offering, the care taken in its preparation for shipping is to be applauded.
