MODTHEBOX would like to thank Chris from The Cutting Edge
for sending the Acrylic Bay Reservoir for review.
Introduction:
Pre-assembled water cooling kits have simplified the process for overclockers to transition from air
based cooling systems to an all purpose water cooling system. The advantage with a pre-assembled kit
is that most of the guess work has been eliminated in terms of selecting all the components needed to
cool an overclocked computer system. For a select few individuals who prefer the DIY method, there are
now an assortment of vendors offering individual parts which can be assembled to make a complete water
cooled system that can equally perform just as good as a pre-assembled kit but at half the cost. Today
in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Acrylic Bay Reservoir, a new product that adds the
functionality of a full system reservoir but fits conveniently into a 5.25" drive bay.
Specifications:
The Acrylic Bay Reservoir comes pre-assembled with all the necessary equipment required to mount and
install the product on any standard mid-tower or server tower case. Here are some specifications taken
directly from the Cutting Edge website:

The Acrylic Bay Reservoir was shipped in a standard double-walled corrugated box with no case
manufacturer's logos and images printed on any of the sides. The packaging inside the box was excellent
and consisted of three layers of plastic bubble wrap which kept the fragile product stationary and
protected during shipping.

Out of the box, the Acrylic Bay Reservoir is very well constructed and consists of 6 pieces of 1/4"
cast acrylic joined together with a water-tight seal. The acrylic is non-coloured and has been pressure
leak tested to assure that it will work with any standard water cooling system. The unit is very light
weight and measures approximately 19mm (L) x 15mm (W) x 4mm (H), which makes it suitable for any
mid-tower or server tower case. The emphasis for this particular product is the ability to conveniently
fit this reservoir into one standard 5.25" drive bay. Also included in the package was a 1 oz. bottle
of blue UV reactant dye which adds a nice illuminated effect when added to deionized or distilled water.
