Introduction:
A product revision is not uncommon in the consumer market where manufacturers face tough competition
from rival vendors. Some manufacturers are quick to adapt and release brand new revisions of their
products to gain market share. Other manufacturers take the slow approach and listen to their target
audience in terms of refining flaws and adding subtle improvements. In July 2002, MTB had the privilege
of introducing our readers to Bitspower's new modding division with the release of their own version of
12" cold cathode kits. Bitspower has been working hard for the last few months fixing some of the issues
that were outlined in our previous review. Today in the
MTB Labs, we will be evaluating revision 2.0 of the 12" cold cathode kits, products designed to enhance
interior case lighting.
Specifications:
The Bitspower 12" Cold Cathode Kits Rev 2.0 are currently available in seven different colours ranging
from red, green, blue, yellow, white, UV and purple. The kits come pre-assembled and include all the

The Bitspower 12" Cold Cathode Kits Rev 2.0 arrived sealed in convenient brown cardboard box retail
packing. On the outside of the package is small print detailing the colour designation of the cold
cathode kits. Inside the box, the packaging was excellent with each individual tube wrapped in plastic
bubble wrap for added protection.

The review package included three 12" pre-wired cold cathode tubes, a new revised 12v encased and
shielded inverter, 4 x adhesive Velcro double stick pads, 1 x large Velcro double stick pad, 2 position
momentary switch, drilling template and instructions. The instructions are very simplified and most
experienced and novice users should be able to setup these kits in less than 30 minutes. Consumers
should be advised that additional power tools such as a high powered drill or dremel tool will be
required to custom mount the 2 position momentary switch.
