Introduction:
Equipped with extensive BIOS options and an excellent online resource of user tips and experience to
squeeze the most out of today’s leading edge hardware, what can be labeled as Enthusiasts and Power Users
are regularly optimizing their computer systems for maximum performance on a constant basis. One common
aspect amongst all these power hungry machines is integrity and efficiency of the operating system being
used. While Power users and enthusiasts may have total control from one side of the fence, the operating
system often dictates several additional performance barriers, which are out of the users hands. Readily
available for shareware or freeware usage are a number of utilities which claim to potentially boost your
operating systems performance while restoring valuable resources. Often times, several applications are
required to be ran simultaneously to see any tangible differences, these programs in turn are using precious
RAM and the cons far outweigh the pros by resources being used in a combinations of utilities. Today in MTB Labs,
we will be reviewing the Leading Interactive SpeedUpMyPC software, a new powerful system utility.
Specifications:
SpeedUpMyPC marks the 4th available software utility being offered from Leading Interactive and is compliant
with machines running Microsoft Windows 98, 2000 and XP series of operating systems. SpeedUpMyPC is a powerful
utility designed to allow users to quickly and easily free up valuable system resources, reduce start up times,
re-assign CPU resources to improve performance, optimize their Internet connection and avoid crashes. Here are

The SpeedUpMyPC software shops in a full color DVD style casing with the product name and LIUtilties URL across
the front. Detail specifications and minimum system requirements along with small diagrams can be found at the
rear of the package. Included inside the Leading Interactive SpeedUpMyPC software is a users manual, serial number
and the SpeedUpMyPC CD-ROM complete with color label. The overall appearance and packaging is quite impressive
when compared to other computer software and standard style jewel cases.

Installation of the SpeedUpMyPC is very straightforward and all that is required is to place the CD into
your CD-ROM drive and wait for the autorun to execute the setup file. The welcome screen recommends that
all other applications be closed before installing the software; this may not apply to all and is mainly
geared to those with lower end machines. Clicking the Next button brings you to the License Agreement in
which you must read and agree to continue with the installation process. One interesting feature I noted
was the minimum system requirements, a processor speed of 400Mhz with a mere 16MB Ram and a 2X CD-ROM drive
ensure that even users with lower-end older systems will be able to benefit from this program. This also gave
me a better idea as to what to expect from the program in terms of how much resources it would be using and
overall performance.

After accepting the License Agreement, users will be prompted to choose the folder where SpeedUpMyPC
will be installed. The default location is C:\Program Files\LIUtilities\SpeedUPMyPC\ this is not necessary
and users may install the software anywhere they wish. Clicking the Next button brings you to the Select
Program group screen. This screen allows you to choose the start menu group location to add the SpeedUpMyPC
icons. The default will be a folder called SpeedUpMyPC unless otherwise specified. After selecting Program
Group, the SpeedUpMyPC software is ready to be installed and you will be presented with one last screen to
confirm all settings or to go back and make any changes. Installation on my machine took under 3 seconds and
SpeedUpMyPC is ready to be used without rebooting. Clicking the finish button will exit installation. Running
the program for the first time users will be presented with a screen where they have the option of entering
a serial number to register the software, or use the trial version for a 30-day period.
