Introduction:
The use of electroluminescent technology is a common fare amongst movie set designers and special effects casts due
to its versatility, low heat levels and luminosity. The concept of illuminating the keyboard is nothing new to the
modification community and there are several excellent online guides which demonstrate the use of electroluminescent
wire in-between the keys for a dynamic effect. While this method is easily achieved, there are several potential
drawbacks such as need for external power source or additional wires, and an un-even distribution of light. Originating
from San Juan Capistrano, California, Auravision has engineered a similar product for the private and commercial
markets and has marketed it under the name EluminX brand name. Today in MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the EluminX
Illuminated Keyboard, a product that combines slim design, clear keys and electroluminescent technology.
Specifications:
The EluminX Illuminated Keyboard uses patented electroluminescent technology to illuminate the entire key surface from
underneath. This feature was originally used by the military and governmental branches for low lit and rugged computing
needs. Currently, the only available colors are Black, Silver or Bone casing with either Aquamarine or Sapphire EL panels.
The model sent for review features black casing with Aquamarine EL panel. Here are some specification taken directly from

The EluminX Illuminated Keyboard ships in a full retail black and white cardboard box featuring the EluminX logo
and a clear product shot showcased on the front of the box. The rear portion of the packaging provides information
on product features, model number and also demonstrates both in light and dark images of the EluminX Illuminated
Keyboard in action.

The interior of the box reveals that the EluminX Illuminated Keyboard comes safely secured via two cardboard braces
used to keep the keyboard stationary and bubble wrap around the keyboard itself to prevent any scratches or damage.
Included in the package was EluminX Illuminated Keyboard itself, along with an instruction and warranty manual.
