The Chenming 301KE Mid-Tower Case uses a feature made popular with the Antec and Chieftec series cases by incorporating a removable drive cage. Removing the internal drive cage is completed by adjusting a metal locking clip in the locked and unlocked position. Once unlocked, all that remains is removing the drive cage by pulling straight back and mounting a hard drive.

Underneath the removable drive cage sits a purple fan mount for installing a front 80mm intake fan. An 80mm fan is placed inside the fan mount which is then secured the aluminum chassis using a series of clips. Those who do not like the purple fan mount due to colour or air inhibition may opt to forgo its use and screw the fan directly. Screwing the fan to the chassis may involve drilling the mounting holes, but this shouldn’t pose a problem to most consumers. The front of the lower chassis features an 80mm fan location to aid in drawing fresh air into the case. The grill of the front has been stamped in a similar manner as the rear grill.

From the inside, I noted two brackets to support the power supply and keep the strain off of the four screws, one on the rear of the chassis and one from the fixed motherboard tray. To add stability and rigidity, there is a crossbar, which after rigorous scientific testing, the fridge magnet letters revealed that this piece was made from steel.
