MODTHEBOX would like to thank Chris from Xoxide Modifications
for sending the Black Enermax CS-101812 Server Case for review.
Introduction:
Economical based budget cases have gained a significant portion of the case market since the introduction
of more expensive aluminum style cases. Consumers have realized that you don't necessary need to spend
a lot of money on a server chassis in order to have a machine that looks good and performs well in a
production environment. The key elements for a good server case are the construction of the chassis,
expandability for system components and great stock cooling options. Recently, we have witnessed a few
manufacturers centering their product releases behind one specific type of chassis design. Antec, Aspire,
Chieftec, Chenming, Cooler Master, and Thermaltake have all released products that share the same type of
case design with a few subtle changes. The Enermax Technology Corporation has had a long standing reputation
for producing high quality power supply units and has recently released several different cases for the
consumer market. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the new Black Enermax CS-101812 Server
Case, a product which offers an abundance of features at an affordable price.

The Black Enermax CS-101812 Server Case arrived in good condition and was shipped in cardboard packaging
via UPS Ground. The package was slightly heavy weighting in at 46 lbs and had several distinct manufacturer
makings including the case model number and a list of features. Upon opening up the packaging, the case
is sealed with protective plastic and secured by two pieces of polystyrene on the left and right hand
sides.

Out of the box, my first impressions of the Black Enermax CS-101812 Server Case after removing the
packaging were very positive. As previously mentioned there are several manufacturers who have used
this specific type of chassis design but Enermax has taken it upon themselves to uniquely style this
case with some nice changes. The case measures approximately 486mm (D) x 200mm (W) x 427 mm (H) and
supports all ATX and Dual Xeon motherboards. The entire exterior is black coloured with the main focus
on the front bezel design and aluminum brushed highlights . The front bezel is very stylish with a
great futuristic type look that is replicated from the top portion of the bezel to the bottom. Consumers
have the option of ordering this case in standard form or with a pre-modified window in place for an
additional fee. The case does not ship with a PSU but can be purchased as an add-on option separately.
