Introduction:

With case modification practically mainstream, the fan control market has experienced a vast level of change from its original roots. Quality cooling is an important aspect in any enthusiast’s machine. Consumers now have several options when it comes to tackling the often high associated noise levels from mid to high level air cooling. The solution is to deploy one of the many fan control rated devices currently on the market which assist in keeping system temperatures at an optimal level. Today in MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the PCToys System Maxx Fan Controller, a product which combines great aesthetics and the capability to up to 18W per channel.

Specifications:

The System Maxx Fan Controller is 5.25" based device and one of the few fan control solutions being distributed by PCToys. Available colors consist of black and silver versions, both of which feature blue backlit control knobs. Here are some specifications taken directly from the PCToys website:

The System Maxx Fan Controller ships in a plastic blister package complete with the PCToys yellow branding. The front portion of the packaging reveals the unit itself along with the product name boldly printed across the center. A clear list of product features, specifications and small package contents diagram are situated at the rear of the packaging.

All contents were neatly and securely packaged, each piece has been grouped into smaller bags. The PCToys System Maxx Fan Controller comes with everything needed to complete installation which includes the following:
  • PCToys System Maxx Fan Controller
  • 8 x Mounting screws
  • 1 x Power Molex cable
  • 2 x 3-pin to 3-pin fan adapter cables
  • 2 x 3-pin to 4-pin fan adapter cables
All the fan adapter cables measure approximately 59 CM.
