MODTHEBOX would like to thank Sugmin from Samsung Canada
for sending the Yepp YP-35H MP3 Player for review.
Introduction:
With the current state of both technology and the music industry, several products have been derived from necessity of
each other. Often, a combination of both has proven to bring a fresh new concept to the consumer market. The portable
music market is one area, which in its current state and success is relative to this scenario - technology and demand
often dictate the new standards to be adapted. Smaller, more efficient media players are gaining popularity and bring a
wealth of benefits when compared to existing portable media players and technology. Today in MTB Labs, we will be evaluating
the Samsung Yepp YP-35H MP3 player; a small form factor portable media device designed around Flash Media technology.
Specifications:
The Samsung Yepp YP-35H has a capacity of 128MB of internal Flash memory designed for the storage and playback of MP3
and WMA files. The Yepp YP-35H is the third highest of the seven recent MP3 players being offered from the Samsung
Yepp lineup and is capable of MP3 playback and voice recording. Here are some specifications as taken directly from

One common design characteristic amongst solid-state based MP3 players is the sheer size difference compared to
other portable media solutions. The Samsung Yepp YP-35H measures 66.5mm x 45mm x 16.5mm and weighs 1.04 ounces
without a battery, the small lightweight design ensures the Samsung Yepp YP-35H can be easily put to use into any
scenario that requires portable media on the go. Out of the packaging, my first impressions of the Samsung Yepp
YP-35H were very positive, the plastic and aluminum silver design coupled with the reflective front portion and
small size provides a very appealing unit. One minor issue that I noted upon initial out of the package inspection
were some noticeable scratches along the front portion of the unit due to lack of any protective film. The Samsung
Yepp YP-35H has a capacity of 128MB of internal flash memory and is capable of playing both MP3 and WMA formats as
well as features a built-in microphone for recording voice directly to the internal flash memory. Other features
include a blue backlit LCD, ID3 Tage support, SRS WOW surround and 15 hours of playback time on a single AAA battery.
