The convergence of Home Theatre Market along with the Consumer Electronic Market has allowed many
manufacturers to produce revised products lines each and every year. In the past where separate
components were used together perform one specific task or function; manufacturers are now designing
products which combine a multitude of features as an all-in-one solution. An all-in-one solution has
several benefits which include cost, ease of use and practicality. This type of ideology has also been
used to fuel the popularity of multimedia applications for standard PC. Samsung Electronics is one of
the top-ten electronics manufacturers in the world and an acknowledged leader in the digital convergence
revolution. Since its inception in 1969, Samsung has successfully transitioned from an analog driven
product line to a cutting-edge and award-winning digital innovator that is currently the world's number
one manufacturer of CDMA cell phones, LCD and CRT monitors, DRAM memory chips and microwave ovens.
Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the SyncMaster 152MP TFT-LCD Monitor, a high-end TFT-LCD
that combines several multimedia based features into an all-in-one solution.

This product is part of the popular SyncMaster series and is a high-end HDTV ready display for users

The Samsung SyncMaster 152MP TFT-LCD Monitor ships in a double wall cardboard box with a plastic carry-on
handle positioned on the top. A product shot is showcased on the top and side panels, along with a
complete list of specifications and features. Inside the package the SyncMaster 152MP was packed
between two formed pieces of polystyrene and enclosed in a sealed protective plastic bag.

The SyncMaster 152MP TFT-LCD Monitor also includes a smaller plastic bag which contains an assortment
of items including video, audio and power cables. The packaged CD contains the TFT-LCD monitor user
guide, installation drivers and a software application called Natural Colour. The Natural Colour
application software allows you to manual adjust display optimization, colour adjustment and colour
preference settings all from your desktop. An eight page user guide covers the driver installation for
different O/S platforms ranging from all flavours of Windows to Linux. A secondary manual covers the
hardware installation and recommended safety procedures.
Out of the box, the Samsung SyncMaster 152MP TFT-LCD monitor looks aesthetically pleasing. The entire
LCD is silver based with the exception of black highlights on the rear and base of the unit. Samsung Canada
is marketing this particular unit as part of their high-end range line of consumer TFT-LCD monitors.
The SyncMaster 152MP measures approximately 14.1" (W) x 14.2" (H) x 7.0" (D) and has a maximum resolution
of 1280 x 1024. The total viewable image size of the LCD measures 15 inches with a pixel pitch of 0.297mm.
The 152MP is the latest product release over the older 151MP model that was offered last year. The 152MP is an
HDTV ready TFT-LCD and can be used a standard computer or multimedia display.
