MODTHEBOX would like to thank Anand from ADPmods
for sending the Sunbeam Blue Meteor Light Kit for review.
Introduction:
Interior case illumination still remains one of the more popular and traditional modifications to add
to a windowed computer case. In the past at MTB, we have covered much of the existing product line
ranging from standard Neon’s, Cold Cathode Tubes, Lazer LEDs, EL Wire, Bubble Lights, MADLights, and
MOD Rainbow Kits. Each product has been significantly different from the other offering alternative
methods of accomplishing the same goal. Sunbeam Technology has recently released new light kits to
supplement their already successful line of cold cathode lamps, Lazer LED Kits and EL Lightstrip Kit.
Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the new Blue Meteor Light Kit, a product designed
specifically for case modders that offers flash and fade effects to interior case lighting.
Specifications:
The Meteor Light Kit is a newest edition to the Sunbeam line of interior case lighting products. The Meteor Kit
is available in blue, red, green, as well as a combination of all three. Here are the full specifications taken from
the ADPmods and Sunbeam Technology websites:

The main portion of the kit includes the lamp which measures approxmimately 31.3 cm end to end. The unit long
enough to get an even glow from each of the included twelve high intensity LEDs, and short enough to fit into
a majority of the cases currently on the market. Each end has been capped with square acrylic blocks, which
assist in keeping the unit mounted once installed.

The main portion of the Meteor Light Kit is the lamp itself and along the inside of the blue striped
acrylic tube are twelve LEDs. The LEDs are reactant and controlled by a 2-position switch that can be
set to flash in several ways or remain constantly on. The Meteor Light Kit is powered by a small 4-pin
power connector which connects directly to a spare Molex connector on a PSU. The wires are encased in a
clear tube which should protect them from sharp edges inside of the case.
