MODTHEBOX would like to thank Jeff from Frogtuning
for sending the Corsair HydroCool 200 External Liquid Cooling System for review.
Introduction:
As water cooling slowly gains a greater level of acceptance amongst enthusiasts and the retail market,
the associated risks have since decreased due manufactures producing a greater amount of quality components.
Some of the inevitable aspects of making the transition from an air-cooled environment to that of a
water cooled one are maintenance, space constraints and portability. Earlier this year, MTB had the opportunity
to feature a unique external water cooling solution from Koolance, which allowed consumers to gain the
benefits of water cooling without the complicated installation or know-how. Today in MTB Labs, we will
be evaluating the Corsair HydroCool 200; an external water cooling solution developed by world leading
memory manufacturer Corsair and Delphi Automotive Cooling Technology.
Specifications:
The Corsair HydroCool 200 is an external based, fully contained unit designed to provide users with an
easy to maintain, high performance liquid cooling solution for personal computers. A patent Delphi
Thermal systems universal water block supports both the Socket A 462 and Socket 478 platforms. The Corsair
HydroCool 200 is capable of removing up to 200 watts of heat. Here are some specifications taken directly
from the Frogtuning and Cosair websites:

Out of the box, my initial impressions of the Corsair HydroCool 200 External Liquid Cooling System were
very positive. The Corsair HydroCool 200 measures 6" (W) x 6" (H) x 14" (D) which provides an easy to
manage unit that will sit alongside or on top of any mid to full tower case. The exterior is simple yet
stylish and features a smoked acrylic shell with white HydroCool and Corsair logos throughout. The front
portion of the Corsair HydroCool 200 facilitates the LCD temperature display and control features. A
series of buttons labeled Set, Celsius, Fahrenheit and Turbo are used to control several aspects of the
HydroCool 200 unit.
