The ATI TV Wonder VE Remote Control Edition includes an audio extension cable and a 2-port splitter which allows you to conveniently connect this unit to the back of your sound card and to any secondary devices such as a home stereo system. To provide the wireless function to the handheld remote, the TV Wonder VE also includes a USB based RF receiver. The TV Wonder Remote uses regular radio frequencies to transmit signals to and from the remote controller and receiver. What is unique about this configuration compared to a standard IF (Infra Red) based remotes is that there are line of sight issues to get a signal to transmit and you have don't have distance limitations. You can transmit a signal from the TV Wonder Remote to the RF receiver from another room up to approximately 20 to 30ft.

The add-on TV Wonder PCI card includes a large Philips RF Modulator for decoding both cable and antenna signals. There are three ports located on the back of the unit which provide the appropriate cable connections. A composite port allows you to connect this unit to any secondary video source while the CATV port allows you to connect this unit to a cable or antenna connection. Finally, an Audio out port allows you to connect this unit directly to your Audio in port on a sound card.

The ATI TV Wonder VE Remote Control Edition includes a stylish wireless silver coloured remote control that requires four AAA batteries for power. The remote control adds the same level of functionality found in standard universal remote units currently on the market. The layout of the buttons is good and very easy to manipulate when placed on the palm of your hand. The top portion of the remote handles the switching of the different display modes along with power and programmable key functions. There is an easy to use thumb pad in the center of the remote that allows you to also use this unit to control cursor movement in all modes. On the left and right sides of the thumb pad are options to emulate left and right mouse button clicks.
