Out of the box, my initial impressions of the Albatron KX18D Pro II Motherboard were positive. As previously mentioned, The Albatron KX18D Pro II is a feature packed motherboard based on the latest NVIDIA nForce 2 Ultra 400 architecture. Supporting the latest 200 Front Side Bus AMD processors and Dual Channel DDR 400 memory, Serial ATA RAID, AGP 8X and more. The Albatron KX18D Pro II is currently Albatron's flagship AMD K7 offering. The Albatron KX18D Pro II is a standard ATX form factor motherboard measuring 244mm x 305mm and takes on a deep blue PCB colour.

The lower portion of the Albatron KX18D Pro II features a total of 6 PCI 2.2 slots to allow for maximum expansion. Residing slightly above the PCI slots is an AGP 3.0 slot, which is also blue in color. The AGP slot can accommodate both the newer 8X AGP cards such as the Radeon 9800XT and the older 4X AGP cards as well. Albatron uses a simple yet effective locking mechanism to secure the attached video card in place by pushing the white tab forward or backward. Users with exceptionally longer video cards such as the Ti4600 or FX5900 will be required to remove their video cards in order to install memory.
