As part of the feature set, the Samsung SyncMaster 192T TFT-LCD Monitor has a series of small
external grey buttons which allow the adjustment of the monitor settings. By pressing each
independent button an on screen menu system guides the user through all the monitor functions.
The menu system is well designed, easy to navigate and covers all the basic settings such as
vertical and horizontal positioning, OSD (On Screen Display), image size, auto tuning as well
as brightness and contrast settings. What is new to the OSD Menu with the 192T model is the
inclusion of a new feature called "Magic Bright". The "Magic Bright" menu option provides you
with a series of pre-configured optimal environment settings (Text, Internet and Entertain)
which are dependant on the application or image that you are viewing. By selecting one of the
menu options allows you to configure your viewing environment to a preferred brightness and
contrast setting which works best as a default configuration.

The Samsung SyncMaster 192T TFT-LCD Monitor was run through a series of applications at different resolutions ranging
from 2D and 3D programs, DVD's, and games. Overall performance was excellent when connected to both my Radeon 9700 Pro
video card and WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe TV Tuner Card. One distinguishing feature of the 192T is that the unit
has a higher contrast ratio of 750:1 which is double the ratios of previous Samsung monitors featured here at MTB.
The higher contrast ratio provides a certain level of sharpness for the image quality when using an assortment of
desktop and multimedia based applications.

DVD playback using X2 - X-Men United was very good with the image quality very sharp and the colours vibrant.
Video game playback was exceptionally smooth and there were some slight ghosting issues noted but not
significant enough to effect game play. The Samsung SyncMaster 192T TFT-LCD Monitor has a max resolution of
1280 x 1024 and a response time of 25 ms. I set the max resolution and played a few rounds of HALO and didn't
notice any major performance issues.

Conclusion:
Samsung continues it long standing tradition of providing high quality LCD-TFT monitors for its popular
SyncMaster product line. The SyncMaster 192T marks a new direction for the company where various aspects
of the product have been redesigned to provide a new set of useful features. Consumers will appreciate
the sleek silver design and easy to navigate On Screen Display menu options. This product is good for
everyday use with normal desktop, office and multimedia applications. The retractable monitor base allows
this unit to be easily packed away for transport or wall mounted for convenience. The new "Magic Bright"
feature offers a set of easy to use pre-defined menu settings that can be configured to suit any specific
type of application or environment. Finally, the inclusion of a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) simplifies
the process of using the 192T in a dual monitor configuration. The only negative aspect of this product is
the weak integrated 1.5 watt speakers which are fine if your sound requirements are small. If you are into
multimedia applications or gaming you'll probably want to skip using the integrated speaker function for
a better suited pair of 2.1 or 5.1 desktop speakers. Overall, I was impressed with the SyncMaster 192T LCD-TFT
Monitor and award this product a final rating of 9 out of 10
and MTB's Seal of Approval. If you have any questions regarding this review be sure to visit the
