Out of the packaging, my first impressions of the Corsair XMS3200LL Pro Series Twinx Memory Kit were very positive. The modules are quite unique and have a cool aesthetic look to them sporting black XMS aluminum heatsinks with colourful lettering on both sides. The XMS3200LL Pro Series Twinx Memory modules measure approximately 1.75" (H) x 5.41" (L) x 0.30" (W) and weigh 2.9 oz. The package consist of two 512MB memory modules which have been implemented using 32M x 8 DDR SDRAM chips. The XMS3200LL designation of this particular package is suited to run on dual channel supported motherboards at DDR400 with a low latency setting of 2-3-2-6. The low latency setting refers to the CAS latency setting in your motherboard's BIOS. CAS stands for "Column Address Strobe" and is essentially a ratio generated between column access time and the clock cycle time of 2 cycles.

As previously mentioned, both Corsair XMS3200LL Pro Series Twinx Memory modules sport a custom fabricated XMS aluminum heatsink. Heatsinks and heat spreaders have long been used with a wide variety of different manufacturers and Corsair is definitely not the first to market them with their products. It is debatable whether or not heatsinks and heat spreaders actually assist with cooling performance but Corsair claims that these particular heatsinks differentiate their products from their competitors. Each memory module is hand picked to ensure consistency and assembled using a special thermal adhesive and Corsair's custom XMS aluminum heatsink.

One of the stand out features of the Corsair XMS3200LL Pro Series Twinx Memory Kit is the inclusion of 18 activity LEDs embedded at the top of each module. The 18 activity LEDS are designed to visually show memory activity and consist of two rows of 9 LEDS. Each row is broken into 3 pairs of coloured LEDS (3 green, 3 yellow and 3 red) which represent different levels of activity. While this feature really doesn't do much in terms of performance it does provide unique appeal and attraction for gamers and case modders who have computers with windowed side panels.
