Introduction:
Cooler Master has developed a significant reputation in the aluminum case market. Up until a year ago the company's
main focus was manufacturing products for the cooling market with everything ranging from cooling fans to hard drive
and chipset coolers. The explosive growth and demand for new aluminum based case products has lead the company to
develop the popular ATC line of aluminum cases. Cooler Master ATC aluminum cases have been praised for their aesthetically
pleasing design, craftmanship and high level of sophistication. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Cooler
Master ATC-600 Desktop Aluminum Case, a product designed to bring back the retro look and feel of the desktop market.
Specifications:
The Cooler Master ATC-600 Desktop Aluminum Case is one of three available models. The unit that was sent for review is
known as the ATC-600-VX1 (verdant) which features a green perspex glass front. The two other models include the ATC-600-VX2

The Cooler Master ATC-600 Desktop Aluminum Case arrived in boxed carboard packaging with a black identification
labelling on the sides. The cardboard box ressembled that of electronic component packaging used for DVD Players, Stereo
Equipment and Hi-Fi VCR's. The case was sealed in protected plastic with 4 pieces of polystyrene located in each
corner.

My first impressions of the Cooler Master ATC-600 Desktop Aluminum Case after removing the packaging were extremely
positive. Out of the box the case speaks volumes in terms of aesthetic design and craftmanship in the true Cooler
Master trademarked style. The case measures 476 mm(L) x 426 mm(W) x 145 mm(H) and is made completely out of brushed
aluminum except for the external metal housing. A PSU unit does not ship with case, which seems to be the standard with
most cases today. Users have become very selective in their power requirements and prefer to purchase this option
seperately. The front bezel is accented with a green glass persex panel which gives the case an overall futuristic
type appearance. The package includes two sheets of instructions, PSU mount as well as a package of mounting screws.
