The fan controlling feature may be the biggest improvement over previous models as it allows users to
eliminate an extra 5.25" device if they already have a fan control unit installed. Once the fans are
hooked up they can be controlled under the control center preferences. The speed of the fans can be
adjusted using the slide bar or by typing a numerical value from 0 to 100 in the box to the right.
There is also a lock feature that can be set to make sure the fans don’t drop below 50% of power, this
is useful if you’re using the unit to control a heatsink fan. There are also advanced options available
if you expand the fan section. Here you can set up two preset actions based on temperatures (taken from
motherboard temperature sensors), CPU use, or by manually clicking on either of the two presets. To test
the fan controller, I hooked up two of my Delta AFB1212VHE’s (130cfm 13.8 volts), a stock Intel heatsink,
and a lighted Antec 80mm fan. The fan controller was able to run all of the fans at 100 and smoothly
took the fans down to 50% power. The Delta fans I used were above the rated 10 volts, but for the short
time I tested it the controller worked fine without generating any heat.

One of the other supported features included with the L.I.S. 2 Blue Eye was its ability to display real-time
clock readings for a dual CPU or Hyper-threading enabled system. I am running an Intel 3.0c w/ Hyper-threading
and as advertised, the Blue Eye displayed it as two processors. Adjustable on this screen is the refresh
rate, the syntax to display the statistics, and whether you want a display of the average, normal, or
raw readout for the clock speed.

The L.I.S. 2 does not come with any temperature probes to determine temperatures of the system, which I
find to be a benefit as temperature probes add to case clutter. Instead, as with previous versions, it
uses the readings from Motherboard Monitor 5 and allows you to customize which statistics you would like
to be displayed. You can choose from 3 presets; temperatures, voltages, or fan RPM’s; or you can use a
custom setting and mix different readings by checking the user set option and using their commands in
the two line fields below. I wanted a display of the Case temp, CPU temp, CPU load, and CPU VCORE voltages
and they were displayed without error.
