MODTHEBOX would like to thank Dan from Danger Den
for sending the Danger Den RBX Water Block for review.
Introduction:
Water cooling has been in the scope of computer enthusiasts for nearly two years and has quickly become
a standard for extreme cooling. Water block manufacturing companies have been through many designs,
continually optimizing the water blocks to provide better flow and water distribution across the block.
One of the more recent changes commonly found in water blocks has been the addition of a third barb which
changes the flow pattern from one inlet and one outlet to one inlet and two outlets. Additional changes
found in the newer water block designs have been the option for a poly (clear) topped water blocks,
larger hose barbs, and in the case of Danger Den’s water blocks different accelerator nozzles. Today in
the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating Danger Den's latest 3 barb water block, the RBX.
Specifications:
The RBX is the latest flagship water block released by Danger Den and is available in two different formats.
Consumers have the option of ordering a copper based water block or copper and poly top based water block.
Each water block is sealed by the use of a black O-ring and uses a 3 barb style design for maximum water flow.
The RBX includes a "Y" splitter and can be ordered for AMD, Intel, or Athlon 64 configurations.
Here are some of the specifications taken directly from the Danger Den website:

The RBX Water Block arrived from Danger Den packaged in a small double walled corrugated cardboard box.
On the front of the box was a sticker with the Danger Den logo and some markings to distinguish between the
RBX’s fitting materials and sizes as well as the inclusion of the accelerator nozzle kit. All of the included
hardware and accelerators are packaged in separate bags and tucked neatly in the box with the included "Y"
fitting on top.

Danger Den did not include any installation instructions with the RBX; however there is a
PDF available that
outlines the basic installation of the RBX available off Danger Den’s website. Included in the first bag
of accessories were all the necessary parts required to mount the RBX on an AMD mainboard:
- 1 x RBX AMD Water Block
- 1 x "Y" fitting
- 4 x Metal springs
- 4 x Brass thumbscrews
- 4 x Stainless steel all-thread
- 5 x Thick nylon washers (one was an extra, only 4 are intended to be shipped)
- 6 x Extra AMD anti-crush pads
- 8 x Stainless steel nuts
- 12 x Thin nylon washers
As previously mentioned, Danger Den has also included an accelerator nozzle kit which can be used to
fine tune the flow of water through the outlets for optimal cooling. While no instructions were
included for the accelerator nozzles, there is an additional
PDF
available online which illustrates the different nozzle sizes and uses. Included with the
accelerator nozzle kit were the following:
- 1 x Socket wrench (for removing the poly top to access the nozzles)
- 1 x 10% increased flow nozzle (referred to as a #2)
- 1 x 10% decreased flow nozzle (referred to as a #3)
- 1 x 20% decreased flow nozzle (referred to as a #4)
- 1 x Directional spray pattern nozzle (referred to as a #5)
- 1 x Blank nozzle for personal customization (referred to as a #6)
- 5 x Neoprene gaskets
