Introduction:
The growing need for high-end computer equipment is often dictated by the system requirements of today's
popular application software. Consumers are often faced with using expensive workstations, servers and
more graphical displays to complete multiple tasks. As part of its ever expanding product line, Samsung
Canada has developed a series of stylish high-end displays specifically designed for the office
environment. The displays are designed to meet two goals, providing great functionality balanced with
useful ergonomic features. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the new SyncMaster 213T TFT-LCD
Monitor, a high-end monitor that offers several ergonomic based features into an all-in-one solution.

The 213T TFT-LCD Monitor is one of many available LCD based monitors available from Samsung Canada. This
product is part of the popular SyncMaster series and is a high-end dual display monitor with support for

The Samsung SyncMaster 213T TFT-LCD Monitor ships in a double wall cardboard box with a plastic carry-on
handle positioned on the top. A product shot is showcased on the top and side panels, along with a
complete list of specifications and features. Inside the package the SyncMaster 213T was packed
between two formed pieces of polystyrene and enclosed in a sealed protective plastic bag.

The SyncMaster 213T TFT-LCD Monitor also includes a smaller plastic bag which contains an assortment of
items including video and power cables. The packaged CD contains the TFT-LCD monitor user guide, installation
drivers and a software application called Natural Colour. The Natural Colour application software allows
you to manual adjust display optimization, colour adjustment and colour preference settings all from
your desktop. An eight page user guide covers the driver installation for different O/S platforms
ranging from all flavours of Windows to Linux. A secondary manual covers the hardware installation and
recommended safety procedures. Surprisingly, the 213T does not include Samsung's new Magic Bright feature
which provides adjustment of custom contrast levels.
One new addition that has been added to the SyncMaster 213T TFT-LCD Monitor package is the inclusion
of Pivot Pro
software from Portrait Displays Inc. Pivot Pro software lets you rotate your computer display from
landscape to portrait orientation, making documents, e-mail and web browsing easier to manage. The software
supports all rotating orientations: portrait 90, presentation 180, portrait 270, and landscape and
works with multiple monitor configurations in Windows 2000 and XP.
