The Black Knight Mid-Tower Case features a swing away front bezel which shields the external drive bays when not in use and maintains the polished look of the case. The swing away door is counter balanced on a sliding rail system which allows you move the door from the front bezel area to the left hand side of the case. The Ahanix website has an animated file which demonstrates how this function works. This feature is quite unique and has only recently been included in a few case designs from rival companies. In order to keep the door closed two small magnets are embedded into the door frame.

The Black Knight Mid-Tower Case includes a 4 x 5.25" drive bays and 1 x 3.5" external drive bays which can handle any type of component configuration. On the left hand side of the single 3.5" external drive bay are two front mounted USB ports. The USB ports are connected to a series of extender cables that must be installed prior to use. On the right side of the single 3.5" external drive bay is a mount for installing an optional IrDA port.

Underneath the 3.5" external drive bay is the location for the 3 channel thermometer and 6 level fan speed controller. The 3 channel thermometer consists of three thin thermal probes which can be positioned strategically in areas known to generate heat (i.e. CPU, video card and hard drive). An onboard LCD temperature display provides updated readings for each channel measured in Celsius. Power and HD activity status is also integrated into the panel display as well as temperature channel selection located on the right hand side. A series of plastic control switches are located underneath the panel display for the 6 level fan speed controller and LCD temperature display. The "Select" button allows you to toggle which thermal channel is monitored while the "Up" and "Down" buttons increase or decrease the default fan speed setting. Two buttons exist for both the Power and Reset functions, which must be connected to the motherboard header pins prior to use.
