MODTHEBOX would like to thank Anna from Corsair
for sending the Corsair XMS4400 TwinX Memory Kit for review.
Introduction:
There are many paths on the way of the computer enthusiast enlightenment. One such path is the way of
the overclocker which focuses on achieving a perfect balance in order to squeeze the most power out of
a processor and other components. Be warned this is not as simple a task and can potentially damage
working components if done incorrectly. Overclocking can be as simple as raising your front side bus,
but this is only the one method of performance gain. Experienced overclockers have understood that in
order to achieve high performance goals you must also have components that remain stable at a higher frequency
and voltage. There are a wide variety of high performance components currently on the market and since
1994, Corsair has been supporting the special demands of mission-critical servers, high-end workstations,
and gaming machines. The company has recently released a series of XMS Memory Modules designed for
extreme performance. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Corsair XMS4400 TwinX Memory Kit
designed for dual channel DDR supporting motherboards.
Specifications:
The Corsair XMS4400 TwinX Memory Kit is one of several different memory modules packages
available on the Corsair website. This memory kit is composed of a matched pair of memory modules and
is designed with the 875P (Canterwood) chipset in mind. Here are some specifications taken directly
from the Corsair website:
