MODTHEBOX would like to thank Jeffrey from Nikao/Tradex Information Technology Incorporation
for sending the Fusion V mATX Case for review.
Introduction:
The need for a full tower based power system along with the motto ‘bigger is better’ has since been
replaced with a more efficient solution in the form of computer systems based on the micro ATX form
factor. The ability to run a quiet, compact system with rival performance to a full size desktop machine
while saving precious desk space has allowed the micro ATX form factor to gain a wealth of popularity in
office and home theater environments. Today in MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Nikao Fusion V mATX
Case, the latest revision of the previously featured Fusion II.
Specifications:
The Nikao Fusion V mATX case is steel based solution designed upon the mATX form factor and can be
placed horizontally or vertically. The Nikao Fusion V mATX case is offered in both silver and silver/black
combinations complete with a 200W power supply and front USB/Audio ports. Here are some specifications
taken directly from the Tradex Information Technology website:

Out of the box my initial impressions of the Nikao Fusion V mATX case were positive. The Nikao Fusion V
mATX case follows a steel construction with plastic bezel and measures approximately 350mm (L) x 135mm (W) x
350mm (H) with a weight of 12 pounds. The overall design of the Nikao Fusion V mATX case strikes
a nice balance between size and style and allows for the unit to be positioned vertically or horizontally.

The top portion of the Nikao Fusion V mATX case features a stealthed 3.5" drive bay for use with a
standard floppy drive. A small pattern of ventilation holes reside directly below. Omitting the floppy
drive altogether or simply repositioning to a more subtle location would benefit the overall design of
the front bezel and allow for an overall cleaner look. The middle portion of the case features a single
vertically placed 5.25" drive bay for use with an optical drive of choice. A built in stealth bezel
hides any mismatched drives as well as contributes to the overall design. A small transparent strip
allows for the drive activity LED to shine through. Unlike its predecessor, the Fusion II, the
temperature LCD is absent and has since been replaced with a simple power LED backlit sparkled strip
with the words ‘ELLE’ printed. This will be featured later on in the review.
