In order to provide power to the bundled PCP25 pump; Xice has created a simple PCI transfer bracket that is wired to a 4-pin Molex connector. The transfer bracket has two openings allowing the mounted tubing to be easily routed from inside the case to the Xice ExternalCool EC900/H unit. The kit includes a 500cc bottle of Xice Anti Corrosive Protection Fluid which is used to prevent corrosion of the aluminum and copper components. As an alternative consumers can also use a combination of distilled water mixed with 30% glycol additive.

One of the key components included with this kit is the Xice xpk CPU Heatsink which measures approximately 65mm x 28mm x 60mm and weighs 420g. The xpk CPU Heatsink has been designed to cross platform compatible with two different mounting mechanisms created for the AMD and Intel platform. The highlight for this particular product is the hard anodized black aluminum top which features two 8/6mm compression nut fittings. The lower portion consists of a copper alloy 110 base that has been machined, lapped and polished smooth. I did note during my inspection that the copper base was not as reflective as previous water blocks that MTB has reviewed in the past. Consumers concerned with the appearance of the copper base can lightly wet sand the surface with a higher grit of sandpaper to make the base look new again. The P4 xpk CPU Heatsink mounting mechanism consists of a high grade steel spring, two metal clips for the Socket 478 and a custom Xice X-clip.

The Xice xgk GPU Heatsink follows the same principles as the Xice xpk CPU Heatsink and has been designed to be cross compatible with a variety of video cards. Xice has developed three different mounting plates which are work on the Geforce2, Geforce 4/5/FX and ATI Radeon Series. The Xice xgk GPU Heatsink measures approximately 65mm x 25mm x 60mm and weighs 0.205kg. The construction of the unit consists of a solid nickel plated copper core with a small 4mm mounting hole to install a thermocouple for temperature monitoring. The xgk GPU Heatsink is fitted with two 8/6mm compression nut fittings and features a highly reflective base. Additional components in this package include high grade steel bolts, plastic bolts, steel washers and spacers.
