Out of the box, the Tsunami Window Reservoir looks like a traditional window kit and measures approximately 8" (W) x 8" (H) x 7/8" (D). The product has been designed to accommodate all mid-tower and full tower cases. The top portion of the Tsunami Window Reservoir features a convenient screw-in plug which is used to seal the fill hole. The fill hole has been tapped with a 1/8" NPT screw plug that allows you to easily undo the screw cap in order to fill the system or use standard hose barb if needed. One of the great benefits of the design is that it acts as an all-in-one fill and bleed system. By positioning the reservoir horizontally on a side case panel, air released from the water coolant rises to the top of the unit eliminating air trapped in the hose lines, water block and pump.

The Tsunami Window Reservoir is very well constructed and consists of 3 pieces of cast acrylic joined together with a water-tight seal. The acrylic is non-coloured and has been pressure leak tested to assure that it will work with any standard water cooling system. The bottom portion of the Tsunami Window Reservoir has been outfitted with two 1/2" NPT white nylon hose barbs. Depending on the type of water cooling system to be installed, consumers have a choice between 1/2" or 3/8" barbs when they place an order on the Cutting Edge website. The edges of the plastic barbs have been sealed with water proof silicone to prevent any possible leaks. In order to simplify the process of system maintenance, The Cutting Edge also offers barb fittings in quick disconnect formats.

The process for installing the Tsunami Window Reservoir is very straightforward and can be completed in a few hours. The first step involved prior to using any tools is to decide on the location of the window. I picked up a spare left side panel from an old mid-tower case and examined the piece for any odd features such as case handles, ventilation holes or obstructions. To make sure that there would not be any obstruction involved in the window placement; I flipped the panel on the opposite side and took note of the outer panel edge, which contains clamps when the panel is installed on the case.

I spent 5-10 minutes doing some prep work on the panel, which consisted of using 2" masking tape and covering the panel from top to bottom. The masking tape serves two purposes with the first being that it will protect the panel during the cutting phase. The second purpose is that it allows you to mark up the panel and map out your measurements as well as make sure that the cutting will be precise in order to minimize mistakes. The acrylic window is held firmly in place while the point of a black marker is used to draw a 3/8" gap around the outside diameter of the window. The 3/8" gap will serve to secure the window in place using the black window molding and locking strap.
