The bottom portion of the SilverStone SST-TJ02 Glacier Mid-Tower Case includes a front port expansion panel that is hidden by a quick release door. The front port expansion panel includes 4 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x 1394 Firewire, 1 x Earphone, and 1 x Microphone jack. The ports are connected via a series of extender cables which reside inside the case and must be connected to the appropriate components prior to use. To simplify this process SilverStone has included a helpful reference sheet which includes the USB and Firewire pin-out.

The left side panel can be easily removed by unscrewing two thumbscrews at the top and bottom. SilverStone has emphasized a complete tool-less approach to the entire design of the Glacier SST-TJ02 by using thumbscrews where possible. The SST-TJ02 incorporates a small chrome lock that is embedded into the left side panel and uses a set of keys which are included in the package. The lock is a welcome addition since it is the ideal solution for added security and acts as a deterrent for chassis intrusion.

The bottom of the case features four stylish rubber feet which keep the case stationary when positioned on a flat surface. The feet resemble the same type of setup used on Hi-Fi stereo equipment and are coloured black with a nice silver highlight. The bezel design of the SS-TJ02 has no visible fan intake and as an alternative SilverStone has positioned a series of ventilation holes at the bottom of the case.
