MODTHEBOX would like to thank Venny from Albatron
for providing the Albatron PX875P Pro Motherboard for review.
Introduction:
The integrated nature of today’s current high-end motherboards provides an ideal solution for many by
incorporating several novelties such as onboard LAN, Sound, RAID and others. One tieback to this option
is the associated price tag along with the simple fact that a small percentage of users will not utilize
the full integrated feature set in favor of their own components. The Intel i875P chipset currently represents
such a fate with the budget oriented scaled down models targeted slightly towards its smaller brother,
the i865 chipset. Albatron Technology Co based out of Taipei, Taiwan is a manufacturer and distributor
of high technology products such as leading edge motherboards, monitors and video cards. Today in MTB
Labs, we will be evaluating the Albatron PX875P Pro motherboard
Specifications:
The Albatron PX875P Pro motherboard is currently Albatron's highest offered model based upon the Intel
i875P chipset designed to accommodate an Intel Pentium 4 processor of 400, 533 or 800FSB. The Albatron
PX875P Pro motherboard delivers an economical solution with features such as Processor Acceleration
Technology, Hyper Threading support along with 1200MHz+ FSB support, Dual Channel DDR 400, AGP 8X, Serial
ATA, 3COM LAN, USB 2.0 and 6-Channel audio. Here are some specifications taken directly from the Albatron
website:

Intel i875P Chipset Overview at a Glance:
The 875P chipset-based platform integrates Intel Communication Streaming Architecture (CSA) featuring a
Dedicated Networking Bus interface, Hi-Speed USB 2.0, and Serial ATA. An enhanced AC '97 audio implementation
with dual independent DMA audio engines delivers improved sound quality and new audio usage models. The
Intel 875P chipset features support for an 800 MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) and implements Intel Performance
Acceleration Technology (PAT) with dual-channel DDR400 memory configurations. Optimized to support the
Intel Pentium 4 Processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, the 875P chipset adds intelligence to help
manage and prioritize multiple threads received from the microprocessor.

The Albatron PX875P Pro Motherboard ships in a shiny golden retail packaging with the Intel 875P name
and awards across the front. The rear portion of the box features schematics highlighting key features
of the motherboard. A 56 page user manual is printed in three languages and contains information pertaining
to board layout, BIOS setup, Trouble Shooting and a small section on basic overclocking. I found the
manual to be adequate for any issues presented. The overall bundle included with the Albatron PX875P
Pro Motherboard is rather scarce in comparison to other motherboards reviewed and only implements the
bare necessities. The Albatron PX875P Pro Motherboard comes complete with the following items:
- Albatron PX875P Pro Motherboard
- 2 x IDE ATA 100 cables
- 1 x Floppy Drive cable
- USB 2.0 Bracket
- 1 x SATA power adapter
- 1 x SATA cable
- Installation and Setup Driver CD
- Albatron PX875P Pro User Manual

Out of the box, my initial impressions of the Albatron PX857P Pro motherboard were positive. Based upon
the Intel i875P chipset, the Albatron PX875P Pro motherboard supports the latest 800Mhz FSB Pentium 4
Processors featuring Hyper Threading technology, Dual Channel DDR 400 Memory, Serial ATA, 5.1 Dolby
Surround Audio, LAN and USB 2.0. Users will be happy to note that the Albatron PX875P Pro Motherboard
also boasts support for the latest Prescott and Extreme Edition Pentium 4 processor along with Processor
Acceleration Technology (PAT). Other key features include Watch Dog Timer and claimed 1200Mhz+ FSB speeds
via overclocking. Continuing the Albatron color scheme as found in previous products, the Albatron PX875P
Pro Motherboard takes on a deep blue PCB with white silk screening. Total measurements constitute an ATX
form factor of 244mm x 355mm.
