MODTHEBOX would like to thank Jeffrey from Tradex Information Technology Incorporation
for sending the Nikao Ogre Mid-Tower Gaming Case for review.
Introduction:
Pre-modified computer cases have gained in popularity for budget conscience consumers wishing to stretch
the all mighty dollar. While price may be the motivating factor for purchasing a cheaper case, there are
several other considerations that should influence a purchasing decision. Regardless of price a case
should contain expansion capability to house current computer components and future upgrades as well as
provide good stock cooling options for controlling system temperatures. A good case should have a solid
built chassis and provide good aesthetics to differentiate from a standard beige case. In the past at
MTB, we have explored several economical pre-modified cases targeted specifically for the consumer
market. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the latest budget gaming mid-tower released by Nikao
marketed as the Ogre Mid-Tower Gaming Case.
Specifications:
The Ogre Mid-Tower Gaming Case is a pre-modified mid-tower case that incorporates several modifications
and is available in two colour selections (Black and Silver). The case is priced under $80 CDN and is
an all-in-one solution for users looking for a complete package. Here are some specifications taken
directly from the Tradex Information Technology website:

The Nikao Ogre Mid-Tower Gaming Case was shipped in a standard white and green double-walled corrugated
box with the case manufacturer's logos and images printed on all sides. The packaging inside the box
was good with the case sealed in protected plastic with two pieces of polystyrene located on the left
and right hand sides.

Out of the box, my first impressions of the Nikao Ogre Mid-Tower Gaming Case were very mixed. The best
way to describe the aesthetic appeal of this case is CasEdge Diabolic Minotaur
meets Alienware. There is a clear indication that
design elements from both companies have been used in the design of the Ogre Mid-Tower Gaming Case. The
case measures approximately 480mm (L) x 250mm (W) x 560mm (H) and is light weight at 25 lbs. The Ogre
has been designed to support all full ATX motherboard formats with a maximum size of 12.50" x 10" or
smaller. The entire exterior has been painted black with a decent car show finish and the composition
of the case is made up of a light weight Steel chassis combined with formed plastic parts. The case does
not include a power supply in order to keep the price down but consumers can pick up any compatible unit
from local retailers suited for their particular configuration. The Nikao Ogre Mid-Tower Gaming Case
includes a small assortment of accessories which includes metal PCI slot brackets, motherboard stand-offs,
mounting screws, case feet and an ATX I/O panel.
