The Samsung Yepp YP-780V MP3 Player features an easy to use touch screen interface that illuminates when
each button is pressed. The layout of the YP-780V provides simple navigation for the different menu modes
and includes volume control, play/pause, recording, loop repeat, SRS toggle and speed searching. To the
right of the unit is a 3-position switch that allows the YP-780V to be turned ON, OFF or placed temporarily
on Hold. The Hold function simply prevents the use of any function of the YP-780V until the switch is moved
to the appropriate position.

The top portion of the Samsung Yepp YP-780V MP3 Player features an ENC Jack, Headphone Jack, and integrated
Microphone. The Headphone Jack allows you to conveniently connect the bundled earphones for personal use
while the ENC Jack can be used to encode music files from external sources such as a CD player. The Microphone
Jack allows you to record any sound or verbal message directly into the flash memory. Voice files can be
encoded in different supported bit rates which include 64, 96 and 128 kbps. The bottom of the unit includes
a concealed battery compartment that houses two AAA batteries which provide power to the YP-780V. The documentation
included with the package advises that two AAA batteries will provide at least 20 hours of continuous
playback.

In order to connect the Yepp YP-780V MP3 Player to any standard computer; Samsung has included a USB interface
which resides next to the battery compartment. A USB cable is included in the package that conveniently
attaches to the YP-780V while the other end can be connected to any spare USB port. While the YP-780V
does represent a solid state drive it is unlike traditional USB flash drives and requires the installation of
a software application in order to transfer files back and forth to the unit. Included on the installation
CD is a useful application called Yepp Studio. In order to use Yepp Studio, you must first proceed with
the installation of the supported USB driver for the YP-780V. Once the USB driver installation is complete,
the second step is to proceed with the installation of the Yepp Studio package. The Yepp Studio package
is quite useful and allows you to move, format, encode, create, and delete files with the click of a button.
Consumers will appreciate the built-in 2xMP3 support which is a compression feature that allows you to
adjust the bit rate selection of your music files. Lowering the bit rate allows you to store more files
but at a loss in overall sound quality.
