LCDC offers a series of LCD definition files that come already pre-programmed and the only configuration required
in this menu is to set the baud rate, COM port, LCD brightness and contrast level. In this example, the auto detect
function selected LK204-24-USB/MX4xx as the default LCD on COM3 at 19200 baud.

A test button allows you to send text directly to the LCD to confirm that your settings are correct. For consumers
interested in programming your own custom screen, Matrix Orbital includes a program on the packaged CD called
"Change" which allows you to customize the LCD startup screen. During the configuration process, I sent a little
sample text displaying the words MODTHEBOX.COM to confirm that the LCD was working correctly. One point to note about
the Matrix Orbital MX412 USB LCD is that the text on the LCD display is crystal clear and very sharp at all angles.
I found for best results that the contrast level works great at 53-55% with the backlight level and brightness levels
turned up to the maximum at 100%.

One of the nice features of LCDC is the Plug-in Menu which allows you to enable and customize cool
features for obtaining Weather Report information, Stock Ticker information, Winamp support, Motherboard
Monitor statistics, SETI@Home, FRAPS, Volume control and programmable hotkey shortcuts. The LCDC webpage
also has a set of beta and third party plug-ins for consumers looking for unique information to display
on the MX412 USB LCD. E-mail configuration is very easy to setup and you can configure multiple e-mail
address profiles if you have different mail accounts.
