MODTHEBOX would like to thank Lucy from Cooler Master
for providing the Cooler Master Cavalier 2 CAV-T02 Case for review.
Introduction:
Desktop enclosures have been revitalized thanks to the popularity of the Home Theatre PC market. One of the
advantages that standard desktops offer over traditional mid-tower cases is the ability to minimize
space requirements and at the same time bundle all the essentials required to assemble a complete
system. For the HTPC enthusiast, there is a wide variety of off the shelf parts that can be assembled
together to create a HTPC system. In the past, case selection has been slim but recently there have been
a few designs released to the consumer market that add functionality and dazzling aesthetics. Today in
the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Cavalier 2 CAV-T02, a brand new HTPC style enclosure developed
by Cooler Master.
Specifications:
The Cavalier 2 CAV-T02 Case is a second generation HTPC style enclosure that is marketed under Cooler
Master's analog meter series. Consumers have the option of selecting two different colour formats
in both black and silver. The Cavalier 2 CAV-T02 Case is AMD and P4 certified and comes bundled with
a 300w power supply. Here are some of the specifications taken directly from the Cooler Master website:

The Cooler Master Cavalier 2 CAV-T02 Case was shipped in a colourful standard double-walled corrugated
box with the case manufacturer's logos and images printed on all sides. The packaging inside the box was
excellent with the case sealed in protected plastic with two pieces of polystyrene located on the left
and right hand sides.

My first impressions of the Cooler Master Cavalier 2 CAV-T02 Case after removing the packaging were
extremely positive. Out of the box the case speaks volumes in terms of aesthetics and craftsmanship
borrowing elements from Cooler Master's Wave Master design. The case measures approximately
420mm (D) x 438mm (W) x 135 mm (H) and supports all mATX and Full ATX motherboard formats. The entire
exterior is silver coloured with the main focus on the front bezel design which has been accented with
blue and chrome highlights. The front bezel is very stylish with a great retro stereo component type
look that is replicated from left to right. One of the highlights of the Cooler Master Cavalier 2
CAV-T02 Case is the inclusion of a 60's style analog meter. The analog meter by default can be connected
to the audio output of any sound card which will measure the overall sound level. Below the analog
meter is an oversize chrome power button and LED indicators for Power and HD activity.
