The DFI LAN Party Pro875B Motherboard supports the standard P4 retention module which can be easily
removed for those users wishing to implement high performance cooling solutions. A row of seven
capacitors are lined up near the top portion of the socket. The overall socket clearance towards the
left and right is rather spacious. Users will be pleased to know that four mounting holes are present
around the socket to accommodate premium cooling solutions. The 20-pin ATX power connector is placed to
the right of the DIMM sockets while the 4-pin +12V power connector is located slightly to the right of
the CPU fan header.

The DFI LAN Party Pro875B Motherboard uses the Intel 82875P Memory Controller Hub (MCH). The MCH is
responsible for Performance Acceleration Technology, 1.5V Accelerated Graphics Port 8X, DDR 400 and 333
SDRAM memory control. Performance Acceleration Technology (PAL) can be explained as additional system
level performance by optimizing internal data paths. The DFI LAN Party Pro875B Motherboard uses a small
aluminum passive heatsink attached to the Northbridge. This cooling method will be a bottleneck when
overclocking, I would have liked to see an active cooling solution of sorts implemented.

Two Ultra ATA33/66/100/133 IDE connectors are located towards the upper right edge of the motherboard
for a total support of 4 IDE based optical or hard drives. The DFI LAN Party Pro875B Motherboard can
support a maximum of 4GB of DDR 266/333/400 memory across four 184-pin DIMM sockets. Placing memory in
DIMM 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 will automatically enable the dual channel memory function. The lower portion
of the DFI LAN Party Pro875B Motherboard features a total of 5 PCI slots to accommodate devices such as
expansion NIC, Sound and RAID cards. Due to the highly integrated nature of the DFI motherboard, most
users will be hard pressed to fill all 5 of these slots. The AGP slot resides slightly above and
supports video cards which use AGP 8x up to 2132MB/sec and AGP 4x up to 1066MB/sec bandwidth. A simple
clipping mechanism is used to secure the card once installed. By squeezing the tab allows for quick and
easy removal. The IDE, DIMM sockets, PCI and AGP slots are UV reactive and neon in color, which provides
a nice contrast against the black PCB. CD In, SPDIF, WOL, Front Audio and chassis fan headers are
located below and to the rear of the PCI slots.
