Introduction:
BTX or Balance Technology Extended is a new emerging motherboard format that promises to replace
the aging ATX format. The BTX specification addresses issues to balance thermal management,
acoustics, and system performance while incorporating the latest technologies such as Serial ATA,
USB 2.0, and PCI Express. One of the key goals of the BTX format is to also re-introduce new and
improved chassis designs to address common bottlenecks which exist in the ATX format. While it
will be a few years before the ATX format is completely phased out, a few manufacturers have already
started incorporating the new BTX standard into existing case designs. SilverStone Technology is a
relatively new player in the case manufacturing market and has gained wide attention for producing
several unique chassis designs that cater to budget, home theatre and high-end PC's. The company has
recently released its first BTX form factor chassis design marketed under the Temjin Series. Today in
the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the new SilverStone Temjin SST-TJ06 Case.
Specifications:
The SilverStone Temjin SST-TJ06 Case is one of several different units available on the SilverStone
Technology website. Consumers have the option of selecting from two different colour formats (black and silver)
as well as two different model designs. The SST-TJ06 Case comes pre-assembled and supports mATX, Full ATX, and

The SilverStone Temjin SST-TJ06 Case was shipped in a colourful double-walled corrugated box with the
case manufacturer's logos and images printed on all sides. The packaging inside the box was good with
the case sealed in protected plastic with two pieces of polystyrene located on the left and right hand
sides.

The SilverStone Temjin SST-TJ06 Case was bundled with an assortment of accessories which include drive mounting
brackets, mounting screws, motherboard stand-offs, zip ties, "Wind Tunnel" air guide and two pairs of
security keys. A fold out installation manual
provides step by step assembly of the case including motherboard, fan mounts, drive rails and system components.
