In addition to the small chrome lock and security keys; SilverStone has added another security feature in the form of adjustable tool-less side panel clips. The clips are held in place with standard screws and have to be placed in the up or downward position to allow the side panels to be removed. While attempting to remove the panel I felt that the tool-less side panel clips were cheap and very flimsy. Consumers have the option of removing the clips altogether in preference for using standard thumbscrews as a replacement. One important point to note with the SST-TJ06 is that you are working from the right side of the case as opposed to the left side. An inside view of the case interior reveals plenty of room to handle a wide variety of standard and large sized motherboards. The SST-TJ06 can handle motherboards in mATX, ATX and Extended ATX format with a maximum size of 14" in width. The chassis design takes full advantage of the BTX format by flipping the motherboard location and relocating it towards the bottom of the case. What is also interesting to note about the design is that each specific portion of the case has been sanctioned into different usable thermal management areas.

The design of the PSU mount located at the top of the SilverStone Temjin SST-TJ06 Case is excellent and provides additional support in the form of two screws that have been protected with rubber coating. Below the PSU mount is the location of the internal 3.5" drive bay area which uses a drive rail system for mounting internal HD components. The internal 3.5" drive bay can accommodate six HD's for high performance RAID or multi drive configurations. Surprisingly, the internal 3.5" drive is not removable and is riveted directly into the case chassis. The drive bay also uses a series of ventilation holes located at the top and bottom to allow ample air circulation to keep this area cool. I did notice that no fan mount was included in this location to maximize cooling in this area.

Positioned directly in front of the PSU mount are five external 5.25" drive bays which are suitable for mounting optical devices. The external 5.25" drive bays use the same rail system mechanism as the internal 3.5" drive bays. Underneath the 5.25" external drive bays is the location for the two external 3.5" drive bays for those consumers who still which to install legacy floppy devices, card readers, fan controllers or temperature monitoring devices.
