The SET Blacklord 240 Water Cooling Kit includes a good integrated pump and reservoir combination housed on a metal mounting plate. The mounting plate includes 4 plastic rubber feet in each corner which help to minimize pump vibration. The pump included in the package is a Eheim 1046 while the reservoir consists of a painted brass housing with a removable fill cap. The Eheim 1046 is a centrifugal water pump that can be configured to run either inline or submersible. This pump has a capacity of about 5 l/min (~79 gal/hr) at a maximum lift of 1.5m.

During the examination of the pump and reservoir combination I did note one very big problem. The power supply included in the pump was rated for 230 volts which is not suitable for the North American standard. As evidenced by the 2-prong plug, there would be no way that I could test the pump included in this package. For those consumers who wish to mount the dual 120mm black radiator externally; 1A-Cooling includes two metal stands which can be attached to the shroud of the unit.

As an alternative to my pump dilemma, I substituted the Eheim 1046 for a Eheim 1048 which fit perfectly as a replacement. The Eheim 1048 like the 1046 is a centrifugal pump that measures approximately 147mm x 75mm x 118mm and can be configured to run either inline or submersible. The pump is capable of pushing a maximum flow rate of 158GPH (600 l/h) with a delivery head of 4 ft 11 inches. Since the package does not include a convenient relay system, I wired the Eheim 1048 to a CritiCool PowerPlant PCI Relay Card.
