Introduction:
In a highly active computing environment, it is very hard to escape the associated noise generated from
a standard computer system. A typical system which has a combination of storage and multimedia components
requires supplemental cooling to reduce the amount of heat generated. To remove additional heat enthusiasts
use a wide variety of after market products to replace existing stock cooling solutions. Arctic Cooling
based out of Pfäffikon, Switzerland is a relatively new company to the North American market. The company
has recently released a series of VGA based cooling products marketed under the Arctic Cooling brand name.
Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the new Arctic Cooling NV Silencer Revision 3 for the
NVIDIA 5900XT video card.
Specifications:
The Arctic Cooling NV Silencer Revision 3 is an all-inclusive kit that includes all the necessary components
for installation. Installation of this product can be completed in less than 30 minutes with only a screw driver
required. The Arctic Cooling NV Silencer Revision 3 uses a universal mounting clip which makes this product

The Arctic Cooling NV Silencer Revision 3 arrived in standard formed Perspex package suitable for
retail display. The front portion of the package includes product logos, model number and the Arctic
Cooling NV Silencer Revision 3 in plain view. The rear portion of the package contains information on
product specifications, features, and a parts list.

The Arctic Cooling NV Silencer Revision 3 requires some mild assembly and comes with an assortment of
parts that include the following:
- 1 x Arctic Cooling NV Silencer Revision 3
- 1 x Tube of Arctic Cooling Thermal Paste
- 1 x PCI mounting bracket
- 1 x Instruction manual (1 page)
The included instructions are translated in two languages (Swedish and English) and are accompanied by
a set of reference diagrams. I found the documentation to be very easy to understand and most users
should be able to complete the installation of the kit in less than 30 minutes.
