Introduction:
Mid-Tower and Server Tower case enclosures have been the standard for most PC computer users for a very
long time. As technology improves, each year we witness changes in the components that power our systems.
Manufacturers push the envelope to develop components that run faster and operate in optimal conditions.
Recently, there has been a push to migrate away from the ATX standard, which comprises of a large percentage
of the current computer market. Consumers are now presented with new options for smaller computer enclosures
supporting new formats such as mATX, Flex ATX, and ITX. The concept of the Home Theater PC or HTPC
has opened new opportunities for consumers to finally migrate a system into the family loving room as an all-in-one
entertainment solution. SilverStone Technology based out of Ontario, California has gained wide attention for producing
several unique chassis designs that cater to budget, home theatre and high-end PC's. The company has
recently released its latest mATX form factor chassis design marketed under the Lascala Series. Today
in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Lascala SST-LC11, a brand new mATX HTPC style enclosure
developed by SilverStone Technology.
Specifications:
The Lascala SST-LC11 HTPC Case is one of thirteen different units available on the SilverStone Technology
website. Consumers have the option of selecting from two different colour formats (black and silver) as
well as two different model designs. The Lascala SST-LC11 HTPC Case comes pre-assembled and only supports

The SilverStone Lascala SST-LC11 HTPC Case arrived in boxed cardboard packaging with a black identification
labeling on the sides. The cardboard box resembled that of electronic component packaging used home
electronics and stereo equipment. The case was sealed in protected plastic with 2 pieces of cardboard
backing and polystyrene located on the top and bottom of the unit.

The SilverStone Lascala SST-LC11 HTPC Case was bundled with an assortment of accessories which include
mounting screws, zip ties, power cable, Allen Key, and a Riser card which supports one AGP and two
PCI slots. A fold out installation manual provides step by step assembly of the case including
motherboard, fan mounts, and system components.
