My first impressions of the SilverStone Lascala SST-LC11 HTPC Case after removing the packaging were extremely positive. Out of the box the case speaks volumes in terms of aesthetics and craftsmanship rivaling the SST-LC01 and SST-LC03 cases that I reviewed last year. The SST-LC11 carries a very small footprint measuring 424 mm (W) x 96 mm (H) x 430 mm (D) with a weight of 7.2 kg. The emphasis for this particular design has been formed around support for the Micro ATX motherboard format. The entire composition of the case has been designed using a custom aluminum front panel with a 0.8mm SECC body. The main focus for the SST-LC11 is the front bezel design which has been accented with brushed aluminum highlights. The left side of the front bezel includes an embossed SilverStone logo in black lettering as well as four USB ports for simple external device expansion options.

The center portion of the Lascala SST-LC11 HTPC Case includes an embedded silver Power and Reset buttons as well as activity LEDs for HD and Power. The Power and Reset buttons are crafted and polished from solid aluminum blocks as well as feature chrome-like rings that are created meticulously with a expensive diamond cutting process. This feature is standard on all the SilverStone Temjin and Lascala series of cases. The right side portion of the case includes one external 5.25" drive bay that includes a built-in stealth mode feature designed exclusively for a optical drive.

The left side portion of the SST-LC-11 HTPC Case includes one Firewire IEEE1394 port, one Earphone and Microphone port which simplify the process of connecting any peripheral devices. The ports are connected by a series of extender cables located inside the case. The connections to the ports are relatively simple and SilverStone includes a reference sheet of the pin-out configuration. In order to deal with air circulation issues, the external shell of Lascala SST-LC11 HTPC Case has been drilled with a series of ventilation holes which accommodate an 80mm cooling fan which is used as a side exhaust.
