MODTHEBOX would like to thank Sawa from Scythe USA
for sending the Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 Case for review.
Introduction:
Arctic Cooling has gained a significant reputation for designing quality thermal products since their
recent introduction into the consumer market this year. The Arctic Cooling product line includes a wide
variety of heatsinks, hard drive coolers, fans and the popular NV Silencer for NVIDIA and ATI based
video cards. New product releases and revisions for different CPU platforms have kept the company in
the foreground of computer case cooling while improving on established technologies. Recently, Arctic
Cooling has released two new cases designed specifically for noise reduction and optimal thermodynamics.
Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the new Silentium T2; a mini ATX based chassis developed
for silent computing applications.
Specifications:
The Silentium T2 Case is one of two different units available on the Arctic Cooling website. Consumers
have the option from selecting either the Silentium T1 or the Silentium T2. The Silentium T2 comes
pre-assembled and supports mATX and Full ATX motherboard formats. Here are some of the specifications
taken directly from the Scythe USA and Arctic Cooling websites:

The Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 Case was shipped in a black and white double-walled corrugated box with
the case manufacturer's logos and images printed on all sides. The packaging inside the box was good
with the case sealed in protected plastic with two pieces of polystyrene located on the top and bottom.

The Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 Case was bundled with an assortment of accessories which include drive
mounting rails, mounting screws, motherboard stand-offs, zip ties, power cord and four rubber rings. The
package does not include a installation manual but Arctic Cooling does provide a downloadable
PDF version
on its website. The included instructions are translated in two languages (Swedish and English) and are
accompanied by a set of reference diagrams. I found the documentation to be very easy to understand and
most users should be able to complete full system installation in the case in less than 2 hours.
My first impressions of the Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 Case after removing the packaging were extremely
positive. The case measures approximately 18 cm (W) x 43.5 cm (H) x 46 cm (D) and weighs 11.5 kg.
Arctic Cooling has taken a simplistic approach towards the overall design of the Silentium T2 by
focusing a good portion of detail on the front bezel. The look is very modern and contemporary accented
by an attractive silver and black colour combination. The Silentium T2 Case supports both mATX and Full
ATX motherboard formats and includes a 350w Seasonic PSU.
