In the bottom portion of the front bezel of the SilverStone Lascala SST-LC13 HTPC Case is an embedded oversized black Power button and activity LEDs for HD and Power. Surprisingly, the case does not include a Reset button even though there is enough room to accommodate the feature. The Power button is crafted and polished from a solid aluminum block as well as feature chrome-like rings that are created meticulously with an expensive diamond cutting process. This feature is standard on all the SilverStone Temjin and Lascala series of cases. In order to deal with air circulation issues, the external shell of Lascala SST-LC13 HTPC Case has been drilled with a series of ventilation holes.

Towards the bottom of the case is an additional intake vent that draws in cool air from a front mounted 92mm cooling fan. In each corner of the Lascala SST-LC13 HTPC Case are four metal flat feet which keep the case stationary when positioned on a flat surface. The feet resemble the same type of setup used on Hi-Fi stereo equipment. All feet are coloured black and accented with silver highlights. As previously mentioned, the SST-LC13 includes a retractable front door which opens up two distinct compartments on the front bezel. The front door is held in place via magnets and includes small gears that control the operation of compartment doors.

In the center of the case is the location for two external 3.5" drive bays and two external 5.25" drive bays. The external drive bays are suitable for mounting any type of optical, storage, monitoring or LCD based device. The SST-LC13 also includes a combination of front mounted ports which include dual USB 2.0, IEEE1394 Firewire, Headphone and Microphone. The ports are attached to a series of extender cables which must be connected to the proper headers on a motherboard prior to use.
