The heart of the Alphacool Xtreme Pro Set 240 12 Volt Kit is the AP1500 which is a 12/24 volt DC pump. The AP1500 is an inline centrifugal pump with the same G1/4 inch threaded fitting with plug-in quick connectors as the NexXxoS XP Water Block. The pump receives power via a 4-pin Molex connector that can attach directly to a computer power supply. One advantage of using this particular type of pump is that the unit powers on simultaneously with the system without the need for solid state relays or any case modification. The AP1500 is operates at 900 LPH (230 GPH) with 12 volts and up to 1500 LPH (385 GPH) at 24 volts. As an option, Alphacool includes a strip of self adhesive Velcro that can be placed on the bottom of the pump during installation.

One new addition included with the Alphacool Xtreme Pro Set 240 12 Volt Kit is a 12-24V Voltage Module. The Voltage Module is an adjustable external DC voltage transformer that supports different voltage options (12, 15, 18, 21 and 24 volts). Consumers can adapt the delivery rate of the Alphacool AP1500 pump to their own individual configuration. One word of caution when using this type of device inside a system packed with computer components and one single power source. The specifications for this device advise that it uses up to 30 Watts, which means that you must have a powerful PSU to support the extra load required for stable operation.

The Xtreme Pro Set 240 includes Alphacool's Cape Coolplex 25 external reservoir which comes pre-assembled and ready for use right out of the box. The unit is comprised of first class Röhm Plexiglas and aluminum caps with rubber O-Rings on each end. The overall measurements for this reservoir are 250mm (D) x 50mm (H) with a holding capacity of 250ml which should be sufficient for any standard water cooling system. The Cape Coolplex 25 can be mounted in the vertical or horizontal position and to simplify the process Alphacool has included two handy plastic clamps. The plastic clamps snap around the base of the Plexiglas cylinder and keep the unit stationary once installed. The back portion of the clamps has a small opening to insert a hex screw to secure the Cape Coolplex 25 to any flat surface. There are two G1/4" threaded fitting with plug-in quick connectors as well as a G1/8" threaded fitting for an optional lighting module.
