Introduction:
Portable storage devices are wonderful pieces of technology designed to match the fast paced lives of
consumers on the move. The need to quickly and efficiently transport useful data from one location to
another has been realized with the invention of solid state drives. For the music enthusiasts,
solid state drives have been a optimal solution for creating portable play lists of favourite music
that can be heard anywhere in the world. Samsung Canada is an established manufacturer that has recently
released a new series of digital audio players marketed under the Yepp brand name. Today in MTB Labs,
we will be evaluating the Samsung Yepp YP-T7 Z Digital Audio Player; a small form factor portable media
device designed around flash media technology.
Specifications:
The Samsung Yepp YP-T7 Z has a capacity of 1GB of internal flash memory designed for the storage and
playback of MP3, WMA, WAV, ASF, OGG and JPEG files. The YP-T7 Z is the latest in digital audio players

The Samsung Yepp YP-T7 Z Digital Audio Player ships in a retail plastic blister package. The front of
the package slopes down to reveal the Samsung Yepp YP-T7 Z unit itself showcased in the center. On the
rear of the package is a contents list, product specifications, system requirements along with product
features.

The Samsung Yepp YP-T7 Z comes complete with an installation CD, user manual, earphones, USB cable,
line cable, power adapter, neck strap and a belt clip. All the included items ensure a trouble free
install and ensure the Samsung YP-T7 Z is ready to use out of the package. Once removed from the blister
package, my first impressions of the Samsung Yepp YP-T7 Z were very positive. The unit measures approximately
37.3mm (W) x 14.7mm (D) x 62.5mm (H) and is very light weight at 42g. The exterior of the YP-T7 Z
consists of a plastic and aluminum silver design coupled with the reflective front portion. The Samsung
Yepp YP-T7 Z has a capacity of 1GB of internal flash memory and is capable of playing MP3, WMA, SECURE WMA,
OGG, WAV, ASF, and JPEG formats. Additional features include a built-in FM Tuner, microphone for
recording voice directly to the internal flash memory, CSTN Colour LCD, SRS 3-D technology, TruBass
technology, SRS WOW surround and 10 hours of playback time on a single rechargeable Li-polymer battery.
