Out of the box, the Samsung SyncMaster 915N TFT-LCD monitor looks aesthetically pleasing and has been designed with an all black exterior accented with silver lettering. Samsung Canada is marketing this particular unit as part of their mid-range line of consumer TFT-LCD monitors. The SyncMaster 915N measures approximately 416.6mm (H) x 424.6mm (W) x 215.5mm (D) and has a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024. The total viewable image size of the LCD measures 19 inches with a pixel pitch of 0.294mm. What is impressive about the 915N is that it features a thin bezel design and a high contrast ratio of 700:1. The response time of this model has also been cut down to an impressive 8ms making this unit a very attractive LCD for the gaming community.

The Samsung SyncMaster 710N TFT-LCD Monitor has been designed to be low profile when placed on the flat surface of a table. What is disappointing with this particular design is the lack of ergonomic features such as a retractable base which allow this unit to be easily tucked away for transport. The 915N is attached to a plastic circular base which supports the weight of the unit and has a small opening at the rear which allows you to easily route both Power and VGA cables. The Samsung SyncMaster 915N TFT-LCD Monitor can be adjusted and positioned for a maximum of 160 degrees. At the base of the unit is a series of small external black buttons which allow the adjustment of the monitor settings. The buttons offer simple monitor functions including Power ON/OFF, Auto Adjustment, Onscreen Menu, and Brightness/Contrast options.

The rear portion of the SyncMaster 915N TFT-LCD Monitor includes four mounts which allow you to attach an optional VESA mounting kit if you wish wall mount this unit. In the past where this kit was usually bundled with the SyncMaster product line; consumers will need to purchase this option as a separate add-on. The adjustable viewing angle of the 915N is accomplished thanks to a rear mounted metal hinge that is secured to the unit via four screws. The hinge is very stiff and works well by keeping the unit in position once adjusted to a comfortable viewing angle.
