Out of the box, my initial impressions of the DFI LAN Party UT NF4 SLI-DR Motherboard were extremely positive. DFI has always taken a unique approach in terms of improving the aesthetic appeal of this product by tailoring it specifically for case modders and the gaming community. The UT NF4 SLI-DR sports a black coloured 4 layer PCB that measures approximately 30.5cm (12.05") x 24cm (9.45"). The appearance of motherboard has been accented with yellow and orange UV reactant connectors and PCI-E/PCI slots. Based upon the NVIDIA nForce4 chipset, the DFI LAN Party UT NF4 SLI-DR Motherboard supports all flavours of Socket 939 AMD processors including AMD Athlon 64 FX, Athlon 64 and Sempron. The feature set for the DFI LAN Party UT NF4 SLI-DR is impressive and includes support for Hyper-Threading technology, Dual Channel DDR 400 Memory, Serial ATA, NVIDIA RAID, 8-channel audio with S/PDIF, Dual Gigabit LAN, USB 2.0 and Firewire IEEE1394 support. The motherboard supports the standard AMD retention module which can be easily removed for those users wishing to implement alternative high performance cooling solutions.

A row of MOSFET's with aluminum heatsinks and Japanese branded capacitors are lined up near the top portion of the socket. The overall socket clearance towards the left and right is rather spacious. The DFI LAN Party UT NF4 SLI-DR Motherboard uses a small low profile aluminum heatsink fan combination attached to the Northbridge. The cooling solution uses a magnetic levitation fan that is temperature controlled and has the ability to spin to up 7200 RPM's.
